Hong Wen International School
Hong Wen International School (HWIS) is a co-educational international program in Taichung, Taiwan, serving students in Grades 7 to 12. English is the primary language of instruction. Through the HWIS TRIFECTA — AP, the IB Diploma Program (IBDP), and Cambridge IGCSE/A Levels — students pursue rigorous university-preparatory pathways aligned with their strengths, learning style, and future goals.

HWIS 3Cs
At HWIS, education is more than preparation for university—it is preparation for life. Through challenging learning, meaningful leadership, and service to others, students develop the confidence to lead, the courage to learn, and the character to serve.
CONFIDENCE TO LEAD
HWIS students learn to communicate with confidence, take initiative, collaborate with others, and lead with empathy. Leadership is developed through classroom discussion, student government, team activities, presentations, creative projects, and service.

COURAGE TO LEARN
Learning at HWIS requires curiosity, perseverance, and the willingness to take on meaningful challenges. Students are encouraged to ask questions, explore unfamiliar ideas, learn from feedback, and choose rigorous pathways that match their strengths and goals.
CHARACTER TO SERVE
HWIS students are encouraged to use their knowledge, talents, and leadership to contribute to others. Through service, ethical decision-making, collaboration, and community engagement, students learn that achievement carries responsibility.
